Tourney History
The "Karl Tourney" had its beginnings in 1998, just one year after Karl died. It's founder, Lance Pogones, began the tournament with the support of friends and family. The Karl Potach Foundation was then established to enable proceeds from the golf tournament, and money from private donations to be used to benefit cancer patients and their families.
The Foundation has been able to accomplish the following:
- Cancer Research...money for peds oncology research has been donated to
- Pediatric Medical Equipment for Austin Medical Center and Adams Clinic. We have been able to purchase "wish list" items for both clinics such as bili beds, peds IV pumps, etc.
- Items have been donated that help to bring smiles to the faces of peds patients- books, movies, Bibles, and Backpacks full of fun things for the children to do.
- A fish tank was placed in the pediatric wing of the Austin Medical Center in memory of Karl.

It is our hope that as you participate in and donate toward this Foundation that you will be blessed in your efforts, knowing that you have given in such a special way.
